For a marketing site or portfolio, investigate Framer’s visual workflow. For a service business, investigate Wix’s business features. For a small managed website, compare Hostinger’s exact builder package and renewal terms. These are use-case shortlists, not measured winners.

How this shortlist works
A useful “best” list should help you choose for a specific project. This first edition groups candidates by documented workflow. It does not assign scores or claim that we have completed identical build tests.
The homepage starts with Framer for visual marketing pages, Wix for service-business features, then Hostinger Website Builder for a small managed site. That order follows those three project types. If bookings are central to your business, move Wix to the top of your own shortlist.
Choose a public website platform around the person who will update it, the content it needs to publish and how comfortable you are with its hosting model.
If the main requirement is private data or custom application logic, start with the AI app-builder guide instead.
Framer for a visually edited marketing site
Framer’s profile is a starting point for marketing pages, portfolios and a CMS-based publishing workflow. Try editing the mobile design and adding a real content item before choosing a plan.
Check the content limits, redirects and the publishing terms of the plan you intend to buy. If self-hosting is essential, clarify the supported exit path: Framer’s native HTML-export help page describes a restriction, while other migration material needs reconciliation.
Our recommendation is conditional on your preference for that visual workflow. We have not measured design quality against a common brief.
Wix for a website connected to business operations
Wix’s profile is relevant when scheduling, commerce or other business features are part of the project. Confirm the exact feature entitlements and any regional payment constraints.
Make a small complete flow during your trial. For a service business, that could be a visitor finding a service, selecting an available slot and receiving the expected confirmation. A good-looking booking button is not enough.
Wix’s official hosting policy says Wix sites need to run on its servers. Include the effort of moving your website and business workflows in the decision.
Hostinger for a small managed website
Hostinger Website Builder’s profile covers the website offering, rather than assuming Hostinger Horizons has the same capabilities.
Compare the specific product, billing term and renewal amount. If future migration matters, review the documented content-export exclusions. Content moving to WordPress is different from taking a complete website bundle to another host.
Try the routine work you expect to do each month: change a service, add an article, update a picture and adjust a page URL.
What to test before subscribing
Use the same brief when comparing platforms:
- Create the homepage and one meaningful detail page.
- Check the layout on a narrow mobile screen.
- Add one content item using the actual publishing workflow.
- Set a unique page title and description.
- Change a URL and investigate how redirects work.
- Check the contact, booking or purchase flow you actually need.
- Write down the cost and work of the next edit.
Save a small record of what worked and what failed. Future SiteKeen test reports will need this evidence before carrying a tested label.
Match the tool to the maintainer
If you will update the website yourself, the editing workflow matters. If a client will maintain it, test their permissions and handoff. If a developer will continue the project, repository access and portability may matter more.
There is no universal best platform across those situations. A shortlist is useful because it reduces the number of trials, not because it replaces checking your requirements.
What this guide does not establish
This edition does not rank uptime, output quality, page speed or SEO outcomes. The linked official sources establish product features and limitations. The fit recommendations are SiteKeen editorial judgments.
For portability-first projects, use the code-export shortlist. For the full budget, use the running-cost worksheet.
